This year is the final year of Young People Together. The project was fixed term for 5 years and this ended in 2014. At the end of 2014, Big Lottery released further funding for one additional year, however activity has been reduced to four areas:
Each area will receive one week of summer-scheme during the months of July/August. Mencap are sad to see the project finish but delighted with the opportunities it has brought to young people. The young people have had the chance to hang out with their friends and try new things within a supportive environment which has helped increase their social and communication skills and over-all self esteem.
Well 2014 was quite a summer, here is a little snapshot of what we got up to!
Once more special thanks to all of the schools community groups staff and families who made it another memorable year.
